Hurricane Dorian Relief Update

International Deployment

150 Family Survival Tents for Evacuees: Disaster Aid USA (DAUSA) has been tasked with providing 150 family survival tents for two evacuee centers in Nassau, Bahamas. Our Disaster Aid Response Team (DART) members will be training local volunteers on proper setup of tents and input on the design of the center. The location is two Boy Scout camps. We need YOUR help! Adopt a tent and provide a family with shelter with bedroll and hygiene kits for $500. Water filtration units are being distributed currently. Help us reach our goal so we may help those survivors who have been displaced from their homes!

Domestic Deployment

Deployment to Ocracoke Island, NC: DAUSA Board has decided to deploy (Sept 18, Wed through Sept 22, Sun) at Ocracoke Island, NC in coordination with Samaritan’s Purse International Relief, to help residents clean up debris, clean basements and repair roof with tarps. This is being lead from DAUSA members who are Rotarians from Zone 33, District 7620 (Maryland/District of Columbia). If you’re in the area and would like to be part of the deployment team please reply to Pmahata@verizon.net by 5 PM, Sept 15. This will help us finalize the deployment plan.
